Wagga Wagga Basketball Association (WWBA) is seeking nominations for Life Membership to be considered by the Board ahead of the 2025 Annual General Meeting.

Purpose of Life Membership

Life Membership is the highest honour awarded by WWBA. It recognises individuals who have made an exceptional and sustained contribution to the development and promotion of basketball in Wagga Wagga.

Eligibility Criteria (Summary)

To be eligible, a nominee must:

• Have given outstanding voluntary service to WWBA over a sustained period (typically 10+ years)

• Have contributed in ways that go significantly beyond normal expectations (e.g., through coaching, administration, officiating, development, governance or similar roles)

• Be held in high regard by the basketball community for their contribution, integrity and commitment

• Not be a current paid staff member at the time of nomination

🛑 Please note: Involvement limited to playing or minimal volunteer participation (e.g., scoring or team managing one team) is not normally sufficient. Life Membership is not awarded automatically after a certain number of years or roles held — it is a rare and distinguished honour.

How to Nominate

• Nominations must be made by a current WWBA member

• The nomination should include:

  • The nominee’s full name

  • A clear outline of their service, impact and achievements

  • Any relevant supporting information

• Nominations must be received by 5.00pm, Thursday 2 October 2025

What Happens Next?

• All nominations will be reviewed by the WWBA Board

• If endorsed, nominees will be presented for approval at the 2025 Annual General Meeting on Thursday 23 October 2025

• The Board may choose not to endorse any nominations if none meet the required criteria
